The attenuation effect of PM2.5 on the available solar energy resource becomes more significant as the concentration of PM2.5 increases. In most months, the maximum PM2.5-related reduction in the average daily global horizontal irradiance exceeded 5% relative to the condition under the clear sky without air pollution.
